At Handy Hangouts, we’re here to solve a problem most apartment dwellers know all too well - wasted balcony space.

I saw too many dodgy homemade balcony table setups with bits and pieces hanging off everywhere - That’s when I thought: why not create something solid, simple and renter-friendly and make it available on a commercial scale to help out all the tiny balcony soldiers out there?

Across Sydney and the rest of Australia, thousands of balconies sit unused. They’re too narrow for tables, too awkward for furniture, and too exposed to make comfortable. In a place where outdoor living is part of the lifestyle, that just doesn’t make sense.

Founded by Sydney builder Lewis Griffin, Handy Hangouts was built to change that.

After years in construction and seeing this problem over and over again, I knew it was time to bring a proper solution to the market — something people could trust, use every day, and set up without tools or stress.
